I am a Lecturer in Cognitive Neuroscience and Principal Investigator of the Multimodal Communication and Plasticity lab at Lancaster University. My research focuses on experience-dependent plasticity, examining how varied sensory and language experiences (including deafness, cochlear implantation, and spoken and sign language bilingualism) shape the brain systems that support face-to-face communication. I have been using fNIRS for over 13 years and have worked with multiple systems.

I am a final year PhD Candidate in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, UCL.
My PhD project utilised portable fNIRS to measure the sense of self in actors and non-actors. I have been using portable fNIRS for the past 6 years to build Theatre-Neuroscience paradigms within real-world and lab environments.
